The recent UNDP report “India Skill Report 2019 – Future Skills, Future, Jobs” quotes ‘SKOCH Report on MUDRA, Skills and Employment’ and says that surpassing the initial hiccups of economic growth, the Indian economy seems to be on the road to recovery. For long, experts argued that lack of opportunities is a concern. But the greater concern was lack of skills. Self-employment was even a bigger concern. MUDRA, Skill India and Start-up India have created an enabling environment that created over 1.17 crore direct jobs and 0.52 crore indirect jobs initially, as per the SKOCH report.
SKOCH Group study of Excellence in Skill Development and Call for Nominations for SKOCH Award 2020 are now open and given your contributions to skills and employment generation, I invite you to participate as widely as possible to help us benchmark your multi-dimensional performance across the areas of skill and employment and perhaps even write a case study that others can take note of and learn from.
SKOCH Award will allow you to benchmark your progress vis-à-vis the national repository of Skill achievers and will help point to a national rank as part of our State of Governance study. The Report Card would be invaluable for you to be able to use it as an effective evidence-based communication on the state of Skill Development in India.
We urge you to submit as many Nominations as possible for ‘SKOCH Award 2020’. The last date of filing nomination is 10 December 2019. To avail the early bird benefits, submit your nomination by 25 November 2019. Nominations can be applied online at www.skoch.in/skochaward/skilldevelopment
