QPs Development Workshop held at Jorhat on 5th Aug 2015
The QPs/ NOSs development workshop was held at Jorhat on 5th August 2015. It was a significant event organised by Textile Sector Skill Council in understanding the existing skill gap in Handloom sector in the North Eastern region of India.
The event was attended by Dr. K.M Bujarbaruah, Vice Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat and Ms. Bismita Gogoi, Minister, Handloom, Textile and Sericulture, Govt. of Assam and representatives of FICCI and NSDC.
The workshop witnessed the participation of local weavers and Handloom experts of the region, wherein an effort was made to explain the goal of Textile Sector Skill Council in reviving the skillset of regional people involved in Handloom and Textile sector, thereby changing the declining trend in the participation of youth in Handloom sector.
Under the guidance of Dr. J.V Rao, CEO, TSC, the proposed QPs/ NOSs were discussed in detail with the weavers and experts.
